Community Support
GCH International Travel Agency believes responsible tourism means more than creating memorable journeys — it means giving back to the communities that make Sri Lanka so extraordinary. We proudly support community development projects, with a special focus on education and schools, because an educated society builds stronger local economies, healthier families and better stewards of our natural and cultural heritage. As custodians of this beautiful country, we have a duty to preserve it for future generations — and investing in youth through infrastructure support, learning resources, scholarships and community programs creates lasting benefits for tourism and the wider world. GCH is committed to long-term partnerships and measurable projects that uplift communities while protecting Sri Lanka's beauty, and we invite partners and volunteers to join us in creating opportunities for the next generation.
Karandhagoda Vidyalaya
Golden Coconut Holiday partnered with our international guests to organise a school stationery donation at W.P./KL/Karandhagoda Vidyalaya, Beruwala. Children received stationery sets, lunch boxes, and school supplies — bringing joy to over 100 young students and their families. Moments like these remind us why responsible tourism truly matters.
Project in Minneriya
Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, Minneriya is home to communities where access to quality learning resources remains limited. GCH visited a local school in Minneriya to deliver educational supplies and gifts to students, who greeted our team with flowers and warm smiles. This project reflects our belief that supporting rural schools strengthens the foundation of the communities that surround Sri Lanka's most treasured natural and historical sites — ensuring both people and heritage are preserved for generations to come.
Project in Kandy
Kandy — the cultural capital of Sri Lanka and home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic — is a city where tradition and community run deep. GCH brought together our team and international guests to visit a local school in Kandy, arriving with GCH-branded gift bags filled with educational supplies for the students. The children lined the path to welcome us with joyful applause, a moment that reminds us of the profound connection between tourism and community. By supporting schools in a city so central to Sri Lanka's cultural identity, we help ensure that the next generation grows up proud of their heritage and equipped to share it with the world.
